August at Holywell Bay

Solstice sunset at Fistral

Great Western & Towan

Not that busy today…

What a scorcher…

Fistral beach today, the hottest day of this year so far.

Turquoise ocean…

Sun rise across the Bay

As the sun rises across Newquay Bay a fishing boat sets off for the day…

The tide is High

Towan Beach before the storms of 2008 which destroyed the wall in the picture with one wave.

Experienced body borders can be seen flipping on the waves….

From out of the deep…

One of the family of seals that live around Newquay Bay…

…they like to pop up out of the water and surprise tourists!

The Gannel Estuary

Low tide in the Gannel Estuary, the river that meets the ocean at Crantock Bay. Take a stroll along the Gannel and you will see a wide variety of birds.

Newquay Bay

Newquay Bay – so still. Taken from Towan Beach on one  unusually warm and calm day in July at sunrise.

When the weather is calm the fishing boats moor in the bay  rather than the harbour. The  boat in this photo belongs to Phil Trebilcock who writes a column in the Newquay voice newspaper each week.
